TOP FIVE BITCOIN WALLETS

Due to popular demand, it is only right that we give a review of the top five crypto wallets according to various online sources. Blockgeeks.com define a cryptocurrency wallet as a software program that stores private and public keys and interacts with various blockchain to enable users to send and receive digital currency and monitor their balance. It is essentially like a normal wallet but it holds digital currency. During the years, wallets have come forward to compete for the best crypto wallet position. Wallets are, categorized by type, which could be either desktop or mobile, for online transactions, hardware wallets like a USB and paper wallets. Below is a list of five wallets and their area of specialization.

Best overall wallet: COINBASE

Coinbase is one of the easiest ways to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies, which earns it the first spot on this list. While the big upside of Coinbase is ease of use, that is offset with some worries about security. It has since upgraded its security after the Mt. Gox wallet was hacked and lost billions in user currency.

Best for security: TREZOR

Trezor is not a full buying and selling platform like Coinbase. Instead, it is simply a place to store your crypto. Trezor is a physical device that plugs into your computer, tablet or phone to access your coins. The Trezor wallet works with multiple currencies and works as a password manager, two-factor authentication device and other useful features.

Best for desktop: ELECTRUM

Electrum is a software wallet, which means your crypto is stored in a set of files on your laptop or desktop computer. It is currently available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Android. Electrum can work with some physical wallets and has some flexibility compared to just using a hardware wallet like the Trezor. It is however risky because it could lead to loss of digital currency if the computer crushes, is damaged or hacked.

Best online: BLOCKCHAIN.INFO

Blockchain.info is similar to Coinbase in that it is an online wallet, but you can’t buy or sell directly through Blockchain, which means your Bitcoin storage is separate from your Bitcoin marketplace. Best for free buying and selling: ROBINHOOD

Personally, Robinhood to me is very convenient because you can as well keep track of stocks as well. Robinhood started as a free stock trading platform and has recently expanded to include support for options and other investments, including cryptocurrencies. Robinhood is both a wallet and an exchange, so like Coinbase everything is in one place. Robinhood, is a mobile-first platform, and is not yet available on the web.

The above wallets however may not support all cryptos and so it is advisable to get a more flexible wallet like Coinomi or Trust wallet where you can exchange and hold numerus cryptos like Ubricoin.
